Breast health is a high priority for all women. If you are among the growing number of women who are concerned about the safety and accuracy of mammograms, which compress and radiate breast tissue and have a high error rate, then you might consider getting a thermogram instead. Thermography uses digital infrared technology to take a color image of the relative temperature of body tissue. The procedure is simple, comfortable, and totally non-invasive. Since inflammation––including cancer––tends to be hot, this picture can reveal a lot, and often detects possible problems earlier than a mammogram.
Thermography is available in Charlottesville at the Womenkind Center (a division of the Longevity Center). Read their list of holistic women-focused services here: https://womenkindva.com
